We can relate, though, to your difficulty finding decent and affordable accommodation here. Dormitory stories are a riot. Byron Bay is a tricky spot to find lodging... we took an overnight Greyhound there and learned the only accomodation was $160 per night. Ouch. It was onto Surfer's Paradise after the day in BB. Surfer's is madness for the same reason you mention above... young and wild Euros. Oh to be young. Hilarious! Dormitory stories are a riot.
